I get very frustrated some times when I am cleaning the house and my children are at my heels grabbing everything I am trying to pick up(very annoying!) SO, I usually tell them to go downstairs and play, always ending with, a "be good"! Today I guess they didn't hear the "be good" part...
As soon as I turned off the vacuum and didn't hear any crying or laughing, I knew something was up. I came down stairs to see my boys in a mountain of wrapping paper. I just stood there shaking my head, and all I could think was, 'well that's a new one'.
After we finished cleaning it up, we were left with 5 empty rolls and 1 big garbage bag.
As we were cleaning I was talking to Jason about his choices, and that he made a wrong choice. He said, "sorry mommy, but Ryan did it". And I replied, " well, he might have started it, but you are older and know better." His response, "I know mommy, but my head was just sleeping, now I think it will wake up". All I could say was, "good"
I tried another approach with Ryan saying, "Ryan, why did you take all the wrapping paper off, now it's all garbage, I can't wrap your presents in it." He said, "ok mommy, I just close my eyes"
Seriously...my heart runneth over.

Cleaning house with children at home is like trying to staple jello to a tree!

Some day you will all be able to laugh about it - keep smiling, Heidi :-)
They say the sweetest things don't they? You just never know what they're going to come up with. Can't help but smile. Wishing you and your family Happy Holidays!
