I'm still here!!!

SO sorry(mainly to my mom who I know checks often) about lack of posts.  Things have been quite busy since the move.  Getting used to a new city, new state, new roads takes a lot of time and patience. But after 10 months of learning all the "new" things, I think I can say I'm comfortable here.  I can find places without Dan's help, I'm meeting some amazing people, and even doing things out of my comfort zone(which for me, is HUGE) I can honestly say I can see Findlay as 'home' and that is a wonderful feeling.  I decided to do a catch up post on the family, so here we go!

I will start with Dan...He had an unbelievable first season of Course Superintendent. He was born for this role and enjoys the challenges that are involved in growing "perfect" turf.  It was a stressful summer, but that doesn't seem to bother him much, he can handle stress with ease(even though I'm sure he would have a head full of gray hair....if he had hair)  He is an incredible father and husband, putting his family first.  Even when he works from dawn to dusk, I know where his heart is. I might feel like a single parent for the summer, but know it's not true. We celebrated 10 of marriage in June and actually got to have a date thanks to a wonderful couple from our church who heard about our anniversary and called us up and asked if they could watch the kids.  WHAT?!! Was all I could say and was more than greatful to them for such a kind offer. Dan and I enjoyed a night downtown, talking and laughing about all the things that have happened over the last decade!

Jason, where do I start.  He has grown so much it blows my mind. He was busy this summer with baseball.  He was the youngest on his team, but you wouldn't know it, he has quite the arm and always got on base, so proud of him!

He also learned to swim and jump off the diving board with out swimmies! Seeing that it was a dry, HOT summer we ended up at the Club's pool at least once a week.  What a blessing to have(especially since there is not much to do in Findlay:)  The boys were sad when it closed for the season, so was I!
It was a hard transition for Jason to start school, but he loves it now, thanks to his great teacher, Ms. Williams. He is in 1st grade, his favorite subjects being gym class and Bible class(he gets to ride a bus across the street to a Church) I love watching him grow in reading, we all love to read books in this family and it is crazy to have your child read to you!

Ryan is getting so smart! He loves to draw, write, color, do puzzles and has a love for Legos!  He has a very imaginative mind, and as a side note, everything he builds is symetrical, it blows me away to see some of the things he makes(a very orderly mind on that one :)  He also grew to love swimming, he likes to swim with out his swimmies, but has to be able to touch the bottom.  He is still my busy, but content boy. He has to be doing something, but can find stuff to do with out me and likes to play in the quiet. Another "big" step for him was he learned how to ride 2 wheels!  It didn't take long for him to get it, and after a week of me practicing with him we surprised Daddy one day when he got home, he was shocked!

He was my only one who was excited to start school.  He is in Preschool and enjoying every minute of it.  I love to hear him talk about his day!

And Lee.... It makes me so sad to think that my baby is 4!  Time is flying by. I think he has changed the most over the summer.  He has grown out of his 'toddler' phase and is full swing in the little boy phase. He has always tried to do everything like his brothers and is finally able to do pretty much anything he puts his mind to.  For example:  he can swim with out swimmies, he can hold his own wrestling(and normally starts it), he is getting great at throwing and hitting the baseball, and he also can ride on 2 wheels!  It is crazy to me, but one day in late summer he asked me to take off his training wheels, and I did(just to make him see how hard it was and stop bugging me) but to my surprise he had incredible balance!  He only needed me to hold his bike the first time, and then had it!

Lee is in a 2 day preschool class and having fun.  It was hard the first week to drop him off, but he has adjusted well thanks to his new buddy Charlie. It is great to see him making friends and excited to go to school. He is very proud of all his papers he takes home in his book bag, "just like Jason" he says.

Some of  the highlights of the summer include family.  A visit from my cousins from Texas, my mom and niece Nicole came for a visit, and I had the chance to take the boys to Michigan twice!  I didn't like the idea of driving 4 hours alone, but I did it, and glad I did each time.  Family is so important to me, and I want the boys to grow up knowing how blessed we are to have family who will always be there even when we live far apart.
