A day in Fort Wayne

A couple weeks ago we had a family camping trip planned that we couldn't make happen, so instead we spent a night in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to get away.  It was a perfect little trip, just what we needed.
The drive west on hwy 30 out of Ohio was gorgeous!  For 22 miles(yes we tracked it) there is a wind farm...so pretty, literally as far as you can see, windmills EVERYWHERE, maybe it's our heritage that makes us appreciate the beauty of it, but I would take that drive any day!

A stop downtown, checking out the fountains

At the "fort". It's always fun checking out a new city!

This picture makes me smile, this is how we stay in hotels.  The boys all share a bed, but I think it might be the last time, Jason's legs are starting to hang off, that boy is tall!

We spent the day at the Fort Wayne Zoo.  We were pleasantly surprised with it, it was a very clean, well taken care of zoo.  It even has some animals we have never seen before, what fun!

Checking out the animal farm.  I wish I had taken this picture a minute later...one of the goats decided to take a chunk of hair off Dan's leg...poor guy...I think I might of seen a tear run down his face, I felt bad...but it was one of those moments I couldn't stop laughing, there were definitely tears running down my face!!

A beautiful white peacock showing off for the tortoise, ha!

 On the canoe ride

Peacocks were everywhere!  Brings back memories of my teenage years at home(my Dad raised peacocks)

 waiting for the train ride

 watching the sea lion show

the orangutans...HUGE animals...boys(and Dan) were fascinated.
Me...not so much(never been a fan of monkeys)

On the sky ride in the Africa park, the boys have never done anything like this before, I was a little nervous for them, but they LOVED it...no more wondering if they are scared of heights!

My boy who loves big cats as much as me...the lion was sitting on the hill looking around with such power it gave me chills!

the day ended with feeding the giraffes, so much fun!

It couldn't have been a more perfect day, we made some great memories!!!
