WARNING! Long post ahead...

Back in November, Dan was one of four candidates interviewed for the position of Course Superintendent at Findlay Country Club in Findlay Ohio. Two days before Christmas he received an offer for the position, and with lots of prayer and consideration, he has accepted. His first day is scheduled for February 6! CRAZY....I know.

On the Tuesday after Christmas, Dan took me and the boys down to see the Club and area. I would have NEVER thought of calling Ohio home, but after seeing the area and meeting the President of the Club and his wife, I can see God's hand in all of it. HE knows whats best for us and we put our trust in HIM!

We took another trip down to Findlay on Friday and set up some rental homes to look at. We are going to rent for the first few years to get to know the area and build up a down payment(we also have to rent out our house here, seeing it went under along with every other home in the Shores=( , but it will all work out. We ended up finding a condo to rent, thanks to some help from some members of the Country Club, which was an answer to prayers.

Driving back Friday night, Dan said, "Pam, we need to have a garage sale." "Yeah right, I said, like anyone would come to a garage sale in the middle of winter!" "I know, Dan continued, but we need to try, and tomorrow looks like our only chance." Knowing our weekends are already full for January, I agreed, and said, "I can't believe we're doing this!" Early Saturday morning, December 31, we did something no one has ever done in Michigan, we had a yard sale. Dan put out the signs I painted the night before and we started putting out everything we did not want to take with us on our move. I have to say, I didn't think we had that much "extra stuff", but after the hundredth time of carrying things outside, I was so glad we were trying. And that's all we said we would do, was TRY. We were both shocked at our first visitor at the break of dawn, and the shock continued the rest of the day, seeing car after car stop, and the emptying tables! Dan was outside all day, coming in for a 15 min lunch break, and a 5 min. bathroom break, it was unbelievable. Another answer to prayers that we didn't even know we had! Pretty much everything went, we have 4 totes left going to donation, it's still crazy to think about it.

So now we have to focus on a school for Jason. Ohio has an earlier cut off for Kindergarten than Michigan, so Ryan will be repeating Preschool next year, he will finish this month of school, but then wait to go next fall. I am finding that the schools we are interested in do not have open enrollment, kind of a bummer, but we know God has a plan. Dan and I are headed down to check out schools on the 9th, and we hope to find the right fit for our boys.

Sorry for the long post! I know some of you have been wondering, I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We feel blessed to start this next chapter of our life, but we couldn't do it without the love and support of our family and friends!
