December Greetings...

Where have the days gone??? It seems like yesterday we were packing up for our Thanksgiving vacation, and now here it is, 16 days before Christmas. I genuinely LOVE this time of year, the only thing that I hate is that it goes way to fast...

With having so much to be thankful for, it is good to focus on all that God has given, we take it for granted way to often. Thanksgiving Day always hits my heart hard, and makes me feel like my batteries are recharged and ready for whatever may lie ahead. God is good, and to Him be all the Praise and Thanksgiving!!!!

It's kind of funny how I never get a Thanksgiving Day picture, for some reason, I always forget. Maybe that can be my New Year's resolution! Anyway, it was our turn to be with my family this year, enjoying the time together, and watching the boys run wild with their cousins it's always fun. Dan took off of work the whole week after Thanksgiving, this was his first time back "home"for him in over 5 months, it was so good to be away from it all. We enjoyed every minute of it.

I think Dan and I were out every night for the week and a half we were away, visiting with family(so good to see you again Tom and Joy & to hold you baby Hanna), old friends(thanks again Ryan and Summer!), and new friends(it was great to meet you Mark=) We even fit in time for just the two of us, spending a long weekend in East Lansing. It was just what the doctor ordered, Dan and I NEEDED to get away, and we couldn't of picked a better place. We walked our trails again, caught a basketball game(GO STATE!), went to our old Church again, and ate out at all our favorite spots. It was so much fun.

My dad, giving the boys a sled ride behind the Gator. There is something magical about the first snow. The boys had so much fun playing in it. The sad thing is we haven't seen snow since leaving west Michigan, we don't get much over here, it's just sunny and bitterly cold. So every day since getting back Jason has prayed for snow to play in, maybe God will answer his prayer this weekend!!

Dan brought his gun along, trying to relieve some of his itch, he took the boys squirrel hunting in my parents woods.

the boys were very proud of their daddy, showing off his kill..

needless to say I was grossed out..

but they have made "squirters"(what they call guns) with their legos and have gone hunting in our basement every day, I think they had fun.

Hanging out at the Children's Museum in GR with Grandpa and Grandma Koops. FYI - $1.50 admission Thursday nights from 5-8pm, can't beat that!!!

Ryan's turn!

Jason being very patient finally got his turn.

Since we stayed for the whole week, we were able to go to the extended Koops family Christmas. It was the first time we were able to make it in 3 years, it was great to see everyone again. We have a tradition of Santa Clause coming to the party and passing out toys for all the Grandchildren. This was Ryan's first time meeting Santa, he did good, never looking at him.

Jason was a little weary, but sat down, ripped open the present as fast as he could, said a "thanks" and got out of there, to funny.

Then there was Lee, he heard his name, climbed up on the couch, gave Santa a high five, talked to him, got his present open, and said "tank you". WOW...my little boy may not be so little anymore!

So here we are, back home, trying to find time for all the Christmas preparations...

and trying to find a way to bottle up the magic that this Season brings...if only there was a way.
