Summer's here??

It's officially summer....I have been dreading this summer.

I have asked the question, "why are we here?", more than I should. Of all places, why are we here, in Detroit, one place I did NOT want to be (if anyone out there believes God doesn't have a sense of humor, just call me sometime=). I remember back when Dan was looking for 'the next step' in his career path, and he said that a job had opened up in Gross Pointe that really interested him....my response...DETROIT?! Needless to say I was not thrilled to move to a suburb of Detroit, but I knew God had a plan. It has not been the easiest move for me. (lets just say south-east Michigan is a lot different than south-west Michigan) But I am very thankful that God has shown "the reason" for our move. Last year, the Country Club voted to go through a major renovation. When I say major I'm talking new greens, tees, fairways and bunkers, basically it will be a brand new championship course. Along with the construction experience, Dan has the HUGE opportunity to work with the top Golf Course Architect of the country right now, Tom Doak.

So, here we are, a week before the start of renovation and I am wishing for summer to end, how sad is that! For the next 3 months the golf course will undergo the construction, and then the months to follow will be the 'grow in' period. I will become a single parent for a while, and that's ok, because Dan has been given this amazing opportunity. (not to mention an awesome resume after this!)

Once again, who am I to question God? Why is it so hard for me to let go, and let God lead every part of my life. God is awesome. We may have a tough summer ahead, but I know we'll make it, with God leading every step of the way!

So, cheers to summer...
cheers to opportunity...
and CHEERS TO GOD!!!!

The club had it's annual member guest tournament this past weekend, so Saturday night I took the boys to the course so they could see their Daddy, I have a feeling I will be doing that a lot this summer, just to be able to see Dan!!

Dan and the watering fork, only the golf turf professionals out there can appreciate the watering fork, or should I say, loath the watering fork?
