Platte Lake

We were able to spend a week at a cottage on Platte Lake, thanks to BJ's family. BJ's father own's a beautiful cottage on Platte Lake, and we were able to enjoy it all together as the Koops family(almost all of us! We missed you Tom, Joy and boys!)
On Saturday, us ladies: mom Koops, Becky, Beth, and I, went up first with all the children(6 of them, all 3 and under). After a 'couple' of stops, we finally made it to the cottage. What a beautiful home, beautiful lake, and beautiful views. BJ met up with us Saturday night, and the rest of the men made it on Tuesday and Wednesday, and we all spent the rest of the week together.
The week brought its own ups and downs, I ended up having to take Lee and Jason to the Urgent Care in Frankfort on 2 separate trips. Found out Lee had an ear infection, and Jason came down with Hand, Foot, Mouth. What's up with my kids getting sick when we are away?! Even dealing with sick crabby children, we did a lot and had so much fun. How can you not enjoy waking up to a lake in your backyard?
The week was full of playing in the sand, playing in the water, playing on the deck, eating, laying out when kids slept(what a wonderful thing!), fishing, boating, canoeing, laying on a tube in the river, eating, watching sunsets, playing cards, having fires at night, eating, shopping, taking walks to the end of the dock(it was a long one!), laughing, having deep conversation around the fires=), and did I mention EATING!!!
I know we made some great memories for the kids, Jason loved swimming, Ryan loved the tube rides, and Lee, well he loved everything.
