My parents came to visit this past weekend, and boy did we have some fun filled days. They came Friday night so Dan and I could go out on a date, and they could spend time with the boys. Dan and I have not been out alone for a long time it was much needed and much appreciated.
Dan did not have to work Saturday so we all took off to the Detroit Zoo. What a big place! We put on many miles walking around trying to see everything, and I think we did! We even got in a train ride. We spent 6 hours there, with the exception of having lunch for an hour to wait out the rain, we were on our feet the whole time. For not getting a nap in, the boys did great. Jason loved seeing all the animals and all the kids walking around. Ryan loved whatever my Dad tried to get him to see. My favorite part was seeing the polar bears, they are so huge and adorable. Needless to say, we were all pretty tired and worn out at the end of it. But that didn't stop us from going out again at night. We went to an outdoor mall to walk around, it was actually relaxing just to walk around and listen to the live band and let Jason play on the giant fruit and veggies at the kids play spot. It was a beautiful night.
Sunday Dan recieved 4 tickets to the Buick Open, so we all packed up and went to watch golf. All I have to say is INCREDIBLE!! I have watched the PGA tour on TV, but never in person. What a difference to be there, behind the scenes. Dan tried to show me and my parents everything he could in the short time we were there. Jason took it all in, and he even started to ask if he 'can talk now'. But the boys had enough after a couple hours, so we said our goodbyes at the 17th hole and Dan and I took the kids home, while my parents stayed.
We had a great weekend together. And I know we made memories for Jason, he keeps asking if we can "go to the zoo tomorrow?" and when I say no to that, he asks, "go to the golf course today?", I just laugh and say maybe later, then he will sit there for a moment and ask if he can "go to Grandpa and Grandma Becksvoort's house NOW?" Any place but home with mom!=)!
