Week Away

A few weeks ago I was opening my mail and was taken back by a Graduation Open House invitation I received. I was shocked to see the little boy I used to babysit...all grown up. The Brink family holds a special place in my heart, I couldn't help but to tear up with the surprise. I told Dan that I had to go, and being the wonderful man he is, he said; yes you have to. And with Dan working a lot right now(getting ready for the opening of the new course) I decided to make a little vacation out of my trip and stay a week at my parents.
***Thank you for thinking of me Sheryl, I feel incredibly blessed to know such a great family and call you freinds. I am still kicking myself that I did not get a picture...I guess I will just have to make another trip=)!

The boys and I enjoyed every minute of being back in the country, boy do I miss it! I don't think there was a day that the Gator and go-kart weren't running. And my dad got the barn swing working again...wow talk about memories. We took 3 trips to the beach, climbed Mt. Baldy, went to Saugatuck for the best pizza ever, roasted marshmallows over the fire, went to Aunt Becky's pool, spent quality time with family, and so much more. It was great. I have to say; I am loving my parents being retired, it seems as though they have more energy now then...ever! Don't get me wrong, I grew up with a father who never sat down, always showing us and teaching us new things. And having parents who have a love for traveling and sight seeing, we were a busy family. It's just so good to see them happy, excited about life, and all it has to offer. Every time I go "home" I know that it will be an adventure, and sharing all the joys of my childhood with my children is an incredible gift.
