IT'S SPRING!

Being a part of the golf industry, the Masters has a way of "bringing in spring" for Dan and I. And with a 81 degree day yesterday, we couldn't of asked for a better day for it to start. After our Sunday naps, I opened the windows and let the fresh air in, what a GREAT feeling again. The boys were a little confused. I told them to go outside to play, so they ran downstairs to get their coats and boots...I had to tell them at least 3 times that they could just go out, no shoes, no coats. Finally with a little help they made it, and with a huge smile on Jason's face he said, "it's spring mom!!" Within 2 minutes they were back inside asking for shorts, with all smiles. I LOVE the first warm days of spring, it's like spring cleaning for your soul!

The most exciting thing for the boys yesterday, happened around 4 o'clock. The most glorious sound of summer for kids....the ice cream truck. With screams of excitement, Jason, Ryan and Lee all came running in the house like it was Christmas, yelling, "the ice cream truck, the ice cream truck!" Well, remembering from the previous summers, we hear it LONG before we see it. So I told them to go play, promising they could get some when it came. They didn't like that idea, so each of them ran to their rooms and got money out of their piggy banks, and sat on the front step, waiting...and waiting...and after a half hour of that, they came in, a little on the disappointed side. We once again had to explain that the truck wouldn't come until later. With a huge promise that we wouldn't miss it, they went back to playing. It wasn't until after supper, that the little tune rang threw the air again. And with as much excitement as before, they grabbed their money and waited...this time seeing the prize in sight.
waiting...and waiting....

"it's coming, it's coming!"

Picking out what they wanted, and paying with their own money...

a huge sense of accomplishment shown on each of their faces!

enjoying the reward

cheers to spring!!!

And God said, "Let bright lights appear in the sky to separate the day from night. They will be signs to mark off the seasons, the days, and the years. Let their light shine down upon the earth." And so it was. ~ Genesis 1:14 & 15

HAPPY SPRING!
