The large building which housed all their equipment is gone, only the carts and one tractor was out at the time, everything else, gone. The building across from it started also, the irrigation building and half of the offices are a mess. Dan and the Superintendent ran in at the last minute to grab their computers and stuff from their desks. Thankfully no one was hurt. It took 2 fire departments a good 3 hours to put out the "5 alarm" blaze, as they called it.
I took the boys to see it last night. Disbelief is the only way I can describe what I saw. If building a new golf course wasn't enough for these guys to handle, now they have to do it without a 'home'.
Dan showing Jason what used to be his favorite building where he got to sit on all the 'big tractors'. (The sand pile between the buildings was for the new bunkers(was white sand), hopefully they can save some, but another order will have to be made)
No one has a clue how or what started it. The investigators are coming this week, so hopefully we will find out what exactly happened.
At the end of the day, you count your blessings. And as Dan said, "you just pick up the pieces and keep going, it's all you can do".
