Little of this and that

So much has been going on, it's hard to make a quick post, but I will try and make it short and sweet.
Ryan is in his big boy bed! (he has been for months now, on the floor) But, now he actually has a bed! Dan worked on the bed every chance he could, and finally got it done last weekend. He did a great job, it looks good! Ryan fell out of it once, I think he learned the hard way with that one!
Now I just have to finish decorating the room, who knows when that will get done!

I surprised my parents with a visit last Wednesday. Dan has been so busy, I just decided to pack up and take the kids to Grandpa and Grandma's for a couple days. What a perfect week to be back by Lake Michigan! (to those who don't know, we live only a mile away from Lake St. Clair, but have never been in it - it is NOT a swimming lake) I think we were by the water every day, I just loved it, so did my boys! Then, to my surprise, I got a call from Dan saying he had the weekend off! He decided to drive over Friday night and spend some time away from his hustle and bustle. We took the kids to the beach on Saturday, such a beautiful day.
We spent Saturday night at Dan's parents, Grandma had a little pool out for the kids, so fun! And thanks to my parents, for watching the boys, Dan and I spent Sunday afternoon alone at the beach. When Dan and I lived in Holland, almost every Sunday afternoon was spent at the beach, it was wonderful to take a nap at the beach again. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Just a quick update for our parents(they are probably the only ones who want updates so everyone else can skip this part
=) The course is torn apart. All the irrigation heads have been dug up and capped. All the greens are dug up, and tees have been started. The new fairways are all marked with white flags, and this weekend Dan will be spraying the 37 acres with round-up. I went there last night to take my first look at the construction. All I can say is, holy cow. It is crazy to see the science behind the golf industry. I still think it's funny when people ask Dan what he does all day, they think he sits on a mower and mows grass every day. All we do is laugh because they just don't understand, and it's way to hard to explain!

This is one of the 2 greens they have done, and is ready for Mr. Doak's approval. It's hard to see it in the picture, but the shape was changed and the grades have been changed. So after approval, the next step is to dig in the drain tile, then lay gravel, then on top of that, lay the greens sand mix(keep in mind that all the layers have to have the same thickness and follow the same grade as the approved green) And then after that gets approved, they can seed.
Next time you visit I will take you there, you will learn a lot, I know I do!
