Art and crafts

Hey guys! Here are some more things to do with paint...
For this one, just take a piece of white paper (preferably stiffer paper) and draw a picture or design on it with white glue. Be creative with it, (you could even make a secret message on it for your brother or sister to uncover) I made "Easter Eggs" with Jason and Ryan and put polka dots and stripes on the paper to make designs. Anyway after you let the glue dry(it dries clear and harder to see), paint the paper with water colors, you can also color it with markers, but it takes longer for the marker to dry on the glue so be careful not to touch it for a while, water color paint works better.
This next on takes a little preparing for...
With mom's permission, mix 2/3 cup of water, salt and flour in a bowl until smooth. Then put half of the mixture in a pourable measuring cup, and add some tempera paint to make a color of your choice, then pour that into an old mustard, or other squeezable container. Then do the same to the other half and make a different color. Then squeeze your way to a beautiful picture. The salt in the mixture makes it shiny and the flour makes it stiff and puffy. Jason and Ryan had tons of fun with their paint. I used some containers I got from Michael's, and got 4 colors from one batch, it just depends on how many colors or containers you have.

Another idea for spring is to fill your windows with sun-catchers. You will need:
-clear contact paper
-construction paper
-tissue paper, cut into small squares
First, cut a (big) shape out of the construction paper. Like a simple flower shape, heart, sun, or even just a circle. Then cut out the middle of the shape leaving only an outlined shape. Place that outlined shape on the sticky side of the contact paper. And fill the middle with the squares cut from colored tissue paper. When the shape is full, you can cut the extra contact paper off and hang, or you can put another piece of contact paper on the back to make it stronger and last longer, and then cut off the extra contact paper. Here is a picture of Lee making a heart for Valentine's Day, to give you an idea.
HAVE FUN!!!!

As crafty as I used to be, I didn't do half as much as you do with your boys. I'm very impressed. More often than not I'd keep Jesse busy with recordings of Sesame Street, and he turned out OK :) Your boys are very fortunate.

Thanks Aunt Carol! What you don't see is the other half of the day with Mickey Mouse Club House on! Thanks for sharing, if my boys turn out anything like yours, I will be more than happy!
