We took off last Wednesday night for the Holiday weekend. Thinking the kids would sleep, we left late, and well, we thought wrong. But, we made it to Dan's parents and enjoyed our weekend with them. Grandpa's and Grandma's have love like no other, and the boys soaked it all in. We spent Thanksgiving Day with my family, and had a great day. Jason seemed a little off to me during the day, but because of the late night I just figured he was tired. After everyone left, we laid Jason down for a nap, waking up 20 min. later with a 102 fever. My little man was sick, and exhausted. Dan and I decided to take him in to urgent care and found out he had an ear infection. Got him on medicine and he started feeling better the next day. No fun spending Thanksgiving night at the doctor and Walgreen's, but I am so thankful that we have doctors and medicine to make our children feel better. It's the little things that I remember to be thankful for on Thanksgiving day, my eyes to see the beauty of each day, my ears to hear my kids laugh, my nose to tell me to change a diaper, my voice say I love you, my legs to run after kids, my arms to embrace them, the list is endless. Why is it so hard to remember to be thankful for the little things everyday? Why is it easy to think of the things that don't matter and forget to trust in the One who has given us so much? I guess I don't have the answer to that, all I know is, I wish I could remember the feeling of Thanksgiving every day.
Lee got to visit his Great-Grandma Becksvoort for the first time!
Jason's highlight for the weekend, visiting Grandpa Koops at his work and getting to drive a forklift. He's still talking about it.
It was a great ride home!!!
