Happy Easter!

Having worked at some of the most prestigious clubs out there, Dan and I have never been able to act as members, but Findlay Country Club is like none other. The people here are down to earth, incredibly friendly, and incredible welcoming (it's kind of hard for us to get used to). This morning we had our first family event, The Easter Party, and felt more than accepted. The boys loved it, especially because their new best buddy(Lawson - son of the Golf Pro) was there. And of course all the candy and the Easter Bunny helped!
Our family, crazy how big my boys are getting!
At the brunch, Jason was asked if he liked living in Ohio or if he likes Michigan better. He said, "I like Ohio, it's nice....but I wish it was closer to Grandpa and Grandma." I couldn't agree more buddy! (He was also asked if he was a Michigan fan or Ohio State fan, and he looked at me and said, "mommy I don't like none of those, only Michigan State" - I was very proud of him ;)
I swear, trying to get my boys to smile for pictures is like pulling teeth, at least Lawson listened!
The poor Easter Bunny; Lee couldn't stop hugging and stalking him. Lee asked every 2 minutes, "can I go see the bunny?" Half of the time just watching him, the other half hugging him. It was too cute.
They even had crafts to make and colored eggs, right up my boys alley!
And it ended with the egg hunt, what fun!
This whole week I have been talking with the boys about Easter and what it means to us as Christians. And just like we do at Christmas, there are "traditions" with Easter that don't have anything to do with the real meaning of the Holiday. Dan and I try our best to help the boys understand the difference. So as I was driving to the Club this morning, I said, "boys, we are going to the Club to have an Easter Party, wont that be fun?" They all cheered, but then I noticed in my mirror that Ryan looked sad. So I asked, "whats up Ry?" He said, "it's kind of sad Jesus got nailed to a cross". Trying to hold back every tear known to man kind back, I said, "yes buddy it is, but remember that God doesn't want us to be sad, Jesus is alive and waiting for us in Heaven!" Ryan said, "oh! Is he waiting for me?" And with all my might I said, "yes, and me and daddy, your brothers, your Grandpa and Grandma, your cousins and aunts n' uncles and everyone that loves Jesus and has him in their hearts will be in Heaven." After a minute of pondering he said, "I think I will like it in Heaven" And I just smiled and said, "yes buddy, you will."
Praise God for his Eternal promise! Happy Easter!
