Dan had the day off yesterday, so we spent it out and about. It felt so good to get out of the house and have so much fun. We first went to
Frankenmuth and got to see the snow and ice sculptures. Their 'Winter Fest' is going on right now. It was so cool (no pun intended)!!! We walked around and saw groups working on huge snow sculptures, there were also ice sculptures everywhere. There was a
competition going on for the "Champions of Ice", 4 groups were busy at work on their blocks of ice. The head chef from the Country Club that Dan works at was there, he was one of the professionals working on the ice sculptures. He was in the process of making a mermaid. Dan saw the practice sculpture they made at the Club, and said it was very detailed.
They also had a petting zoo for the kids that Jason loved. When we couldn't feel our hands or feet anymore, we went to
Bronners. How cool is that store, and HUGE!!!! The kids had fun looking at all the Christmas decorations.
After
Frankenmuth we ended up in
Auburn Hills and went to the Bass Pro Shop, and walked around the Great Lakes Crossings Mall. Then we ate dinner at the
Rainforest Cafe'. The kids loved it in there. Jason had to keep his eye on the elephants that moved every now and then, but they did great and had so much to look at.
Needless to say we all slept good last night...What a great day out!
